Versatile, delicious and rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber.

(Inter)national potatoes

Jansen-Dongen offers different varieties of potatoes from all over Europe. Together with our growers we make sure that heart and soul is put into the cultivation and harvesting, which is reflected in our assortment.

Of course we are proud of all our potatoes, but our real eye-catchers are the Malta potatoes. This potato is grown on a special Mediterranean soil that is extremely rich in calcium, which promotes the cultivation of the Malta potato. This soil also contributes to the delicious taste of the Malta potatoes.

Apart from the Malta potato, we also proudly offer these varieties and more:

  • The Gwenne
  • Vitabella
  • Alpha
  • Derby
  • Actress
Unique soils

At Jansen-Dongen, quality and taste are key, which is why we choose to grow potatoes exclusively on clay soil. There are several reasons for this; the first is that clay soil is a more nutritious soil for potatoes than sandy soil is. In addition, this nutritious soil ensures that the clay potato has a flowerier character compared to the sand potato. The clay soil also ensures that these potatoes have a slightly softer taste. During the weeks that the potato plant is flowering we let mother nature go its own way as much as possible. This is essential in order to achieve a beautiful and truly natural product.

Potatoes below sea level
What is unique about the clay soil on which our potatoes are grown is that it is below sea level. In no other country but the Netherlands can we say that our potatoes are grown below sea level and this makes Dutch potatoes a unique product!

To lend a hand to mother nature, we support the insects and bees in the vicinity of the fields together with all our growers.

These beautiful insects are essential in the natural growth of these beautiful crops..

Always involved
At Jansen-Dongen we strive for short lines between cultivator and consumer. Because we are involved in every part of the process, we can look together for suitable varieties and how the cultivation should be organized, up to the final delivery of the products to the distribution centers. Not only are we always informed about all matters within our chain, but we can also respond quickly to any changes. In this way, all parties always know where they stand.
